First to reassure you all that I am currently taking sessions now and for all of this remaining year ahead. If I ever needed to reschedule a playtime myself I would offer you a new date and in special circumstances a refund. My booking procedures still apply when you cancel at short notice, due to the flaky ones.
Some of you know I’ve had ongoing knee issues since March 2023, this is caused from a historic ACL tear (I never had a reconstruction) I also have lateral and medial meniscus tears. So far I have only needed to reschedule one appointment, which actually suited the person to his benefit. Usually when my knee is causing issues I don’t have anyone booked in and when receiving enquiries I book people in after a knee episode. I’m able to assess when I know I can walk normally and work without issues, so that we can both enjoy the session.
At the end of July 2024 I had an appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon who has advised that I really need an ACL reconstruction, and have my torn medial & lateral meniscus trimmed and floating debris removed. I am now on a waiting list and it will be some time in 2025.
I could be off work anything from 2-4 months with and ongoing rehab.
It is a rather daunting major operation and could be life changing in either direction. For the better I really hope.
What I suggest is that if you have ever been wanting to come and see me to session, then don’t put it off! I’m not sure how long into next year I will be available. Many of you may have noticed I have had to tighten my booking procedures and take small phone call cover fee from new clientele, as well as ask that those who want lots of chit chat in between sessions fully support my business by paying for the extra time. Being self employed I don’t get paid if I am off sick. I’m going to have to ensure I try and set aside funds to cover my time off. So far to date (in 16 months) I have lost 85-90 days where I haven’t accepted bookings when my knee has been bad. Imagine being off for that length of time without full pay. I make dribs/drabs off the phone platforms. I have approx 8 subscribers on my LoyalFans amongst the over 100+ followers! It isn’t a hive of wealth as it’s made out to be in the press. If the free followers that see some of my free posts all paid a sub each month then that would be great and be a better income. Plus give me drive to upload more, it’s an uphill slog at present. Adult work take off 40% commission as well as a phone connection fee. Dommeline take 50% but do offer some other incentives/bonus payments at times, so it is my platform of choice.
